Get the Most Out of the Wizard

The Wizard helps users determine and document Sec. 508 requirements that apply to a particular EIT acquisition. It also can help procurement officers with document management, user matrices and compiling market research by:

  • Registering group specific market research sources
  • Standardizing the process you use for each acquisition
  • Ensuring it produces consistent, complete documentation sufficient to demonstrate due diligence to Section 508 considerations
  • Interacting directly with the Product & Services Directory for market research requests for accessibility information about EIT-related companies, products, and services
  • Managing users within your agency
  • Generating matrices for usage activity
  1. GPAT (Government Product/Services Accessibility Template) - a form to be included with government solicitations, to be completed by solicitation respondents as a part of their proposal to indicate how their proposed solution addresses the applicable Section 508 requirements.
  2. Evaluation Guide - for use of government buyers only and helps them to evaluate various proposals based on commercial availability of their applicable provisions as determined by the Wizard. The commercial availability is determined using the Market Research worksheets as documented by the Wizard.
  3. Solicitation Template - a simple "cut and paste" tool to assist Federal contracting and procurement officials in producing specific language for their solicitations for EIT products and services. The Solicitation Template provides specific example text recommended for inclusion in solicitation documentation, including basic language regarding Section 508 relevance, Sec.508 applicability, Section 508 factors for proposal evaluation, and Section 508 criteria for deliverable acceptance. You can simply cut and paste the suggested solicitation language from your Solicitation Template into your formal solicitation documentation. The Solicitation Template includes by reference to the GPAT as the mechanism to identify specific Section 508 program requirements and to solicit vendor information about the Section 508 accessibility of their proposed deliverables.
  4. Acceptance Guide - guidance tool to help government procurement officials evaluate acquisition deliverables against applicable provisions as determined by the Wizard, based on generally accepted inspection and/or test methods.
  5. Design Guide - provides EIT developers with resources (links) for qualified design and development methods to help ensure conformance to the applicable provisions as determined by the Wizard, based on generally accepted design and development methods.
